Isocyanates are known to react vigorously and exothermically with alcohols to form carbamates (National Fire Protection Association. 1975. Publication 491M. pp. 19; Rich, G. A., 1993, Dangerous Chemical Reactions, Gulf Publishing Co., Houston, TX, p. 255). The combination of isocyanates and mercaptans (organosulfides) may react in a similar way. Caution should be used before proceeding. Further research of comparable examples in the literature or very small scale, carefully controlled experiments may be needed to fully assess compatibility.
